1 Now it came to pass1961 after310 this,3651 that Nahash5176 the king4428 of the children1121 of Ammon5983 died,4191 and his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

1 После310 сего умер4191 Наас,5176 царь4428 Аммонитский,11215983 и воцарился4427 сын1121 его вместо него.

2 And David1732 said,559 I will show6213 kindness2617 unto5973 Hanun2586 the son1121 of Nahash,5176 because3588 his father1 showed6213 kindness2617 to5973 me. And David1732 sent7971 messengers4397 to comfort5162 him concerning5921 his father.1 So the servants5650 of David1732 came935 into413 the land776 of the children1121 of Ammon5983 to413 Hanun,2586 to comfort5162 him.

2 И сказал559 Давид:1732 окажу6213 я милость2617 Аннону,2586 сыну1121 Наасову,5176 за благодеяние,2617 которое отец1 его оказал6213 мне. И послал7971 Давид1732 послов4397 утешить5162 его об отце1 его; и пришли935 слуги5650 Давидовы1732 в землю776 Аммонитскую,11215983 к Аннону,2586 чтобы утешить5162 его.

3 But the princes8269 of the children1121 of Ammon5983 said559 to Hanun,2586 Thinkest5869 thou that David1732 doth honor3513 853 thy father,1 that3588 he hath sent7971 comforters5162 unto thee? are not3808 his servants5650 come935 unto413 thee for5668 to search,2713 and to overthrow,2015 and to spy out7270 the land?776

3 Но князья8269 Аммонитские11215983 сказали559 Аннону:2586 неужели ты думаешь,5869 что Давид1732 из уважения3513 к отцу1 твоему прислал7971 к тебе утешителей?5162 Не для того ли пришли935 слуги5650 его к тебе, чтобы разведать2713 и высмотреть7270 землю776 и разорить2015 ее?

4 Wherefore Hanun2586 took3947 853 David's1732 servants,5650 and shaved1548 them, and cut off3772 853 their garments4063 in the midst2677 hard by5704 their buttocks,4667 and sent them away.7971

5 Then there went1980 certain, and told5046 David1732 how5921 the men376 were served. And he sent7971 to meet7125 them: for3588 the men376 were1961 greatly3966 ashamed.3637 And the king4428 said,559 Tarry3427 at Jericho3405 until5704 834 your beards2206 be grown,6779 and then return.7725

5 И пошли3212 они. И донесено5046 было5046 Давиду1732 о людях582 сих, и он послал7971 им навстречу,7125 так как они582 были3637 очень3966 обесчещены;3637 и сказал559 царь:4428 останьтесь3427 в Иерихоне,3405 пока отрастут6779 бороды2206 ваши, и тогда возвратитесь.7725

6 And when the children1121 of Ammon5983 saw7200 that3588 they had made themselves odious887 to5973 David,1732 Hanun2586 and the children1121 of Ammon5983 sent7971 a thousand505 talents3603 of silver3701 to hire7936 them chariots7393 and horsemen6571 out of4480 Mesopotamia,763 and out of4480 Syria-maachah,758 4601 and out of Zobah.4480 6678

7 So they hired7936 thirty7970 and two8147 thousand505 chariots,7393 and the king4428 of Maachah4601 and his people;5971 who came935 and pitched2583 before6440 Medeba.4311 And the children1121 of Ammon5983 gathered themselves together622 from their cities,4480 5892 and came935 to battle.4421

7 И наняли7936 себе тридцать7970 две8147 тысячи505 колесниц7393 и царя4428 Мааха4601 с народом5971 его, которые пришли935 и расположились2583 станом2583 пред3942 Медевою.4311 И Аммонитяне11215983 собрались622 из городов5892 своих и выступили935 на войну.4421

8 And when David1732 heard8085 of it, he sent7971 853 Joab,3097 and all3605 the host6635 of the mighty men.1368

9 And the children1121 of Ammon5983 came out,3318 and put the battle in array6186 4421 before the gate6607 of the city:5892 and the kings4428 that834 were come935 were by themselves905 in the field.7704

9 И выступили3318 Аммонитяне11215983 и выстроились6186 к сражению4421 у ворот6607 города,5892 а цари,4428 которые пришли,935 отдельно в поле.7704

10 Now when Joab3097 saw7200 that3588 the battle6440 4421 was set1961 against413 him before6440 and behind,268 he chose977 out of all4480 3605 the choice977 of Israel,3478 and put them in array6186 against7125 the Syrians.758

10 Иоав,3097 видя,7200 что предстоит ему сражение4421 спереди6440 и сзади,268 избрал977 воинов из всех отборных977 в Израиле3478 и выстроил6186 их против7125 Сириян.758

11 And the rest3499 of the people5971 he delivered5414 unto the hand3027 of Abishai52 his brother,251 and they set themselves in array6186 against7125 the children1121 of Ammon.5983

11 А остальную3499 часть3499 народа5971 поручил5414 Авессе,523027 брату251 своему, чтоб они выстроились6186 против7125 Аммонитян.11215983

12 And he said,559 If518 the Syrians758 be too strong2388 for4480 me, then thou shalt help1961 8668 me: but if518 the children1121 of Ammon5983 be too strong2388 for4480 thee, then I will help3467 thee.

12 И сказал559 он: если Сирияне758 будут2388 одолевать2388 меня, то ты поможешь8668 мне, а если Аммонитяне11215983 будут2388 одолевать2388 тебя, то я помогу3467 тебе.

13 Be of good courage,2388 and let us behave ourselves valiantly2388 for1157 our people,5971 and for1157 the cities5892 of our God:430 and let the LORD3068 do6213 that which is good2896 in his sight.5869

13 Будь2388 мужествен,2388 и будем2388 твердо2388 стоять2388 за народ5971 наш и за города5892 Бога430 нашего, — и Господь3068 пусть сделает,6213 что ему угодно.28965869

14 So Joab3097 and the people5971 that834 were with5973 him drew nigh5066 before6440 the Syrians758 unto the battle;4421 and they fled5127 before4480 6440 him.

14 И вступил5066 Иоав3097 и люди,5971 которые были у него, в сражение4421 с3942 Сириянами,758 и они побежали5127 от него.

15 And when the children1121 of Ammon5983 saw7200 that3588 the Syrians758 were fled,5127 they1992 likewise1571 fled5127 before4480 6440 Abishai52 his brother,251 and entered935 into the city.5892 Then Joab3097 came935 to Jerusalem.3389

15 Аммонитяне11215983 же, увидев,7200 что Сирияне758 бегут,5127 и сами побежали5127 от Авессы,52 брата251 его, и ушли935 в город.5892 И пришел935 Иоав3097 в Иерусалим.3389

16 And when the Syrians758 saw7200 that3588 they were put to the worse5062 before6440 Israel,3478 they sent7971 messengers,4397 and drew forth3318 853 the Syrians758 that834 were beyond4480 5676 the river:5104 and Shophach7780 the captain8269 of the host6635 of Hadarezer1928 went before6440 them.

16 Сирияне,758 видя,7200 что они поражены5062 Израильтянами,3478 отправили7971 послов4397 и вывели3318 Сириян,758 которые были по ту сторону5676 реки,5104 и Совак,7780 военачальник8269 Адраазаров,66351928 предводительствовал3942 ими.

17 And it was told5046 David;1732 and he gathered622 853 all3605 Israel,3478 and passed over5674 Jordan,3383 and came935 upon413 them, and set the battle in array6186 4421 against413 them. So when David1732 had put the battle in array6186 against7125 the Syrians,758 they fought3898 with5973 him.

18 But the Syrians758 fled5127 before4480 6440 Israel;3478 and David1732 slew2026 of the Syrians4480 758 seven7651 thousand505 men which fought in chariots,7393 and forty705 thousand505 footmen,376 7273 and killed4191 Shophach7780 the captain8269 of the host.6635

18 И Сирияне758 побежали5127 от Израильтян,3478 и истребил2026 Давид1732 у Сириян758 семь7651 тысяч505 колесниц7393 и сорок705 тысяч505 пеших,3767273 и Совака7780 военачальника82696635 умертвил.4191

19 And when the servants5650 of Hadarezer1928 saw7200 that3588 they were put to the worse5062 before6440 Israel,3478 they made peace7999 with5973 David,1732 and became his servants:5647 neither3808 would14 the Syrians758 help3467 853 the children1121 of Ammon5983 any more.5750
